This morning, while driving into work, I tuned into a story where they were interviewing Big Bird. The piece focused on publicizing a new CD, “Sesame Street Playground,” which features songs from Sesame Streets all over the world.
At the end of the piece, Big Bird shared that his favorite letter is “B.” Then the commentator segued into how librarians LOVE letters. A few of librarians from NPR shared their favorite letters (e.g., “S” — because it looks like how it sounds, “Z” — because it is last, and there are benefits to being last, etc.)
So, as a librarian, I channeled my inner geek, and I started to think about what my favorite letter would be. And I decided on “Q“ …
Q is powerful — especially in the game of Scrabble. One of my favorite words to create with the letter Q is “qi.” a simple two letter word, which can yield a large number of points. No “U” required, as so many Q words do!
What’s yours?
