I need to give a shout out to David Lee King — even though I’ve never met him. He recently posted a blog entry about what his library (Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library) is doing with Facebook.
This was the nudge I needed to inquire again about setting up a Facebook page for the library system at which I work. I submitted the proposal, but I never heard back a “yea” nor a “nay.” I am a bit embarrassed with myself that I did not keep asking about the status of the proposal. I just let it slide — thinking that other projects and issues were the priority and I would eventually get some notice. Let’s be honest, people are busy — and things get lost in the shuffle.
So, after reading King’s post, I decided to purse the endeavor again. This time I’ve suggested that we use the BRANCH at which I work as a pilot Facebook project of sorts. I’m hoping the “pilot” twist will be the little tweak needed to get the go ahead.
Wish me luck.

Very cool! Share if it gets approved… it’d be a great example of a branch-based facebook page. And thanks for the shout out
