The second program I coordinated was held at my branch today.  Rich Chernock demonstrated how to build an electric guitar.  Mr. Chernock has been building guitars for the last five years.  He also builds drums, amplifiers, electric bass, and theremins.  Along with the benefits of making your own customized electric guitar, guitar building also develops problem solving skills and serves as an outlet for artistic expression.  To augment his presentation, I put together a display of books, DVDs and CDs from our collection about guitar maintenance, song writing, playing the guitar, etc.  His presentation included a display of beautifuly crafted hand-built guitars.  Below are some pictures of his finished pieces.
