professional development with little/no budget…

Posted by: annavan on: 2009/07/22

With declining travel and professional development budgets, Jason, Rachel, and I took on the topic of locating and taking advantage of professional development opportunities at no or little out of pocket cost for our 4th episode of the Adventures in Library Instruction podcast.

We discuss free webinars, local conferences and events, unconferences, online collaboration tools (e.g., STS’ Information Literacy wiki and Libsuccess Wiki), as well as resources YOU can use to host your own online program/event.

But we are just three people, and I’m sure there are other opportunities out there that we didn’t discuss or even know about. Please share any instructional professional development programs, events, informal gatherings you know about! We’d love to hear about them!

Access points: July 2009, Episode 4, the AdLib Instruction podcast, RSS feed, or subscribe in iTunes.

Join us for future episodes! If you’re interested, please post a comment on the Adventures in Library Instruction blog or email us! We’ll do it as a Skype discussion or you can record a segment all on your own.
